Ryan was involved in a car accident driving from California to the Redmond , OR Supercross. He was following a semi-truck on a snowy highway 97 about an hour outside of Redmond. The truck was traveling at about 40 MPH and had slowed down to about 20 MPH in order to let Ryan pass. As he started to go around the semi, Ryan hit black ice and the front end of his truck slid under the trailer of the semi where it was dragged along on the ice until it broke free and shot across the other side of the road. Ryan's truck was only about three months old! Ryan and Jenna were the only ones in the vehicle and luckily no one was hurt. The bikes in the back were fine as well. Jenna used her AAA to get them towed to Redmond and Ryan was able to race.
