Ryan wins Pac West Championships in 125 Pro, 250 Pro and Open Pro classes! With two rounds left to go, Ryan has earned enough points to guarantee championships in both the 125 Pro and 250 Pro classes. Congratulations Ryan!! Pac West rounds 7 & 8 at Albany Ryan had a tough weekend at Albany last weekend. The track was very fast and difficult to pass on. Competition was also stiff as Supercross holeshot artist Ty Lacey came out to race his home track. On Saturday Ryan finished 5th in the 125 after crashing, 2nd in the 250 class behind Lacey, and 1st in the Open class. On Sunday Ryan finished 1st in the 125 class, 3rd in the 250 class behind Ty Lacey and Tracy Johnson, and 3rd in the Open behind Lacey and Nick McConahy. With two rounds left to go, Ryan has earned himself enough points to guarantee championships in both the 125 Pro and 250 Pro classes. Congratulations Ryan!! Albany Photos Special thanks go out to Ed Bartlett from MotoSport Hillsboro for the photos.
Pac West Round 5 Washougal Saturday results Ryan won the first 125 moto of the day and then crashed hard while leading the first Open pro moto. He overshot the landing on the Chuck Sun tabletop jump and landed in the braking bumps in the turn. The impact sent Ryan and his bike cart wheeling into the fence. Witnesses of the crash said his bike literally cart wheeled several times in mid air before it came crashing into him. Ryan had the wind knocked out of him and was coughing up small amounts of blood after the crash and did not finish. Possibly suffering from a bruised lung and kidney, mere mortals would have called it a day, but not Ryan. He got up and rode the 250 pro moto just for the points and finished last. By the time 2nd motos were ready to start, the clouds opened up a huge downpour of rain onto the track. Ryan got a bad start in the 125 second moto, crashed in the mud and finished last. Still feeling a bit nauseous, in the next open pro moto I believe Ryan finished 3rd in the mud. For the final 250 pro moto of the day he was feeling a bit better and the rain had stopped. He got a great start and won the race going away! Pac West Round 6 Washougal Sunday results The rain from the day before made for slick conditions during practice, but the sun was shinning and the Huffman's did an excellent job grooming the track. Once again the rutted conditions were definitely to Ryan's liking. He repeated last Sundays win streak by winning all six motos on Sunday at Washougal taking the overalls in the 125cc, 250cc, and Open Pro classes.
Pac West Round 3 Saturday results Ryan fell in the first 250 moto of the day finishing second while the win went to Tracy Johnson who was riding very well this weekend. Ryan jumped out to a lead in the first 125 moto and was looking like he had it in the bag until his silencer lost the endcap and most of it's packing and power. He ended up finishing second to Tracy Johnson again. But, that was to be the last moto of the day that Ryan would lose. Ryan went on to win the last four motos of the day and took the overall wins in the 125cc, 250cc, and Open Pro classes. Pac West Round 4 Sunday results The Seattle track was a little moist on Sunday due to rain during the night. The rutted conditions were definitely to Ryan's liking. He continued on his win streak winning all six motos on Sunday taking the overalls in the 125cc, 250cc, and Open Pro classes. Pac West Championships Ryan won 8 out of 12 motos at the opening rounds 1 & 2 in Richland, WA June 4 - 5th.
