4/29 Seattle Supercross:  The Seattle Supercross was looking like it would be a dry event. It was sunny all week and the sun was shining early in the morning on Saturday. Practice went great. Ryan got to ride in the seeded practice for a change and he looked good setting the 11th fastest 250F lap time which was less than a second off the top 5 pace.  However, all of that wouldn't mean a thing because as soon as they pulled off the track, it began to rain, and rain, and rain... until right about race time. By 7pm the rain had stopped, but the track was a quagmire.

Heat 2:  Ryan got off to a bad start in the mud and was running about 14th on the first lap. However, he was quickly picking off rider after rider in the mud and able to jump some of the rhythm sections and doubles. Ryan worked his way up to 7th by the checkers which was enough to get him into the main.

Main Event: The starting gate was littered with deep ruts for each of the bikes to line up in. The rut that Ryan was in was too close to the riders on either side of him. There was not enough room for him  to get his elbows in front of the two riders beside him so he got a bad start again.  After the gate dropped it was pretty much a race for survival. Ryan started out around 15th. On the second lap Nate Ramsey got cross rutted in front of Ryan off a jump and Ryan landed right on his handlebar taking them both down. Ryan was able to keep the bike running and quickly remounted. It was sketchy in a few sections like the whoops where Ryan almost crashed a couple of times, but he managed to hang on to finish 13th which moved him up to 18th in the final point standings guaranteeing himself a spot in the East West Shootout in Las Vegas!
