Washougal Results

7/29 Washougal National:  Ryan rode well on Saturday, but was not quite fast enough to qualify for the 250F main motos.  Halfway through timed qualifying I found myself missing the racing part of racing.  The new timed qualifying system is a bit strange and takes some getting used to. He finished about 5 positions short of qualifying. That put Ryan into the slow 40 moto which was 20 minutes plus 2 laps. It's sort of like a Last Chance Qualifier where the top 2 guys have a chance to race if someone drops out. Ryan started in about 10th place, but quickly worked his way through the pack. After about 4 laps Ryan was in a battle for 2nd with Oregon's Ryan Metzler. The two got into a heated battle that had the Washougal crowd on their feet and went all the way to the finish line.  They passed each other back and forth, banged bars in the corners,  and rode side by side up the hills for about 15 minutes, neither one giving in until the checkers where Metzler finished 2nd about a bike length ahead of Ryan.

7/28 Washougal National:  Well we are at Washougal!!  It Seems like it's been forever since we've been to a national to actually race.  Maybe because it has been over a year! But here we are, no team, just Ryan and a stock Yamaha YZF250.
